What this site stores, what it does not, and which third parties are involved.
The short version
There are no accounts and nothing to sign up for. The site does not ask for your name, your email or your location, and it has no database of visitors. What follows is the detail.
Stored on your own device
Two things are kept in your browser's local storage, on your device, and are never sent anywhere:
- Your light or dark theme preference, so the page does not flash the wrong one on the next visit.
- Your last six conversions, so they appear as shortcuts under the converter.
Clearing your browser's site data removes both. Nothing else is written to your device by the site itself.
Server logs
The web server records ordinary access logs — the address requested, the time, the browser's user-agent string and the requesting IP address. This is standard hosting behaviour and is used for diagnosing faults and blocking abuse. These logs are not combined with anything else and are not used to build a profile.
Third parties
Web fonts are currently loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers and Google sees your IP address as part of it. Moving these fonts onto this server is on the list precisely because it removes that request.
Exchange rates are fetched from the European Central Bank by this server on a schedule, not by your browser. Your visit is not part of that request.
If advertising or analytics are added later, this page will describe them before they go live, and any consent required will be asked for through the provider's own consent tooling rather than a home-made banner.
Your rights
Under the GDPR and comparable laws you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data held about you. In practice this site holds almost nothing: the useful request is usually to server log retention, and the contact address is the route for it.
